My Skincare Routine

Taking care of your skin is super important so I wanted to share all of the steps and products that I use. I’m going to try sticking to the essentials here since I could talk about this all day long. Please keep in mind that just because these work for me, they might not necessarily work the same on you. I have combination and acne prone skin but you should build your skincare routine based on the type of skin that you have. Another thing to keep in mind is that some products don’t let others absorb into your skin properly so make sure you always apply things from thinnest to thickest. Let’s get started:

Cleanse

The first step I take is to wash my face and thoroughly remove all dirt and makeup. I usually use the Clarisonic Smart along with my holy grail Origins Checks and Balances Frothy Face Wash. Even though this is a frothy face wash, it does not dry out my skin. I also exfoliate a couple of times a week after cleansing use Tatcha Rice Powder.

Toner

A good toner helps prep the skin even more so that you can better absorb all of your serums and creams. After trying several toners, I found that the Origins United State Balancing Tonic works the best on me. This toner helps unclog my pores and helps smooth out any texture on my skin.

Mask

One of my favorite steps in skincare is applying some sort of face mask. This step I only do about once or twice a week. There are so many masks that focus on different concerns but my all time favorite is the Drunk Elephant TLC BabyFacial. I usually apply and leave on for about 20 minutes while I relax or watch TV. After my timer goes off, I wash off the mask and proceed with the rest of my routine.

Serum

This is the treatment step targeting whatever concern you would like to work on. Serums are packed with a lot of nutrients and powerful ingredients that help the skin look and feel its best. In the daytime, I like using Sunday Riley CEO Rapid Brightening Serum. I love this because it contains Vitamin C which is an important ingredient that our skin doesn’t produce by itself. At night I like to switch it up between the Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Night Serum and the Sunday Riley U.F.O Ultra Clarifying Oil. Both of these have really improved the texture of my skin and helped clear any problem areas.

Eye Cream

I cannot stress the importance of a good eye cream! The skin around our eyes is the most delicate and is the first to show signs of aging. I have tried so many eye creams within the past few years in search of “the one.” My favorites are the Belif Moisturizing Eye Bomb, which helps hydrate and the Kiehls Midnight Eye cream, which helps my dark circles. These are both great creams that I have actually noticed a difference with.

Moisturizer

Just like you get thirsty, your face does too whether you realize it or not. My holy grail moisturizer that I use every day in the morning  is the Belif True Cream Aqua Bomb. This does a good job giving my face the hydration it needs while not leaving my skin greasy or breaking me out. Even if you have acne prone skin, your face still needs moisturizer! At night, I love using my Origins High Potency Night-A-Mins Cream. This feels very luxurious on the skin. The morning after I use this, my face feels so soft and looks very plump.
