The Sunday Riley Experience

First of all, I love pop-up shops. I think they are a brilliant form of marketing to spread the word and get people to try out and learn about new products. Sunday Riley held a great pop-up event this past weekend full of artsy Instagrammable displays to celebrate the launch of their new Influencer Clean Long Wear Foundation. I'm talking cool photo booths, ball pits, slides, and confetti. They did such a good job that they constantly had a long line of people waiting to get in. The pop-up shop was unfortunately only in Soho from April 11-15th.

At the pop-up, people were able to test out the new foundation and get color matched. Even though I loved the pop-up, I was not very impressed with the actual new foundation. The foundation did not give as much coverage as I hoped and it caked very easily. The other thing I noticed with this foundation is that it didn't stay put even with a setting powder and setting spray. It would still transfer and smudge, making it not last. I definitely don't recommend this product, especially because you can get several better foundations for a similar price point.

Even though I was disappointed with the foundation, I did fall in love with some of Sunday Riley's other products. Before attending this pop-up, the only Sunday Riley product I had tried was the Tidal Water Cream, which I love. After receiving a few samples, I am now hooked on the U.F.O. Clarifying Facial Oil, Luna Sleeping Night Oil, and the Sulfur Acne Mask. I was always hesitant about applying facial oils, thinking that they would break me out, but these are AMAZING! Definitely try one of their facial oils next time you pop into a Sephora.
